Free Guided Life Bliss Meditation CD
Learn yoga as intended by the Patanjali, father of yoga.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda, from his experimentation with thousands of meditation techniques and study of the Yoga Sutras, is representing the essence of yoga that has been lost over time. Nithya Yoga, a core component of Inner Awakening, is about uniting the body and breath with the awareness of our existence. Nithya Yoga is the means to work physically, dissolving deeply engraved muscle memory, and opening the channels of energy inside our subtle body layers. Reclaim the joy and bliss of living inside a human body!
What is Yoga: Are You Doing Yoga or Being in Yoga?
Yoga: What is the difference between doing yoga and being in yoga?
‘Have you done yoga?’ or ‘Do you do yoga? is not an uncommon question in this contemporary society that we are living in. The statistics say that 20% of the population in the USA have at least once practiced one form of yoga or meditation. An even more interesting fact is that 10% of the entire US population consistently practice one form of yoga or meditation. It is funny to note how no one ever asks anyone else, ‘Are you in yoga’? Doing yoga and being in yoga are two very different things. To understand the difference between these two, doing yoga and being in yoga, we need to understand the actual word ‘yoga’ a little deeper. If you ask anyone on the street the question, ‘What is yoga?’ majority of people will give answers like,
- ‘Yoga means doing stretching exercises’
- ‘Yoga is for getting your body flexible’
- ‘Yoga is a good workout’
- ‘You can get a nice body from doing yoga’
- ‘Yoga means doing a lot of complicated postures’
- ‘Yoga means twisting your body up like a pretzel’
None of the above answers are completely wrong, they simply lean more toward the more superficial understanding of what yoga is. Rarely, you may get one or two people who give answers like, ‘Yoga means union’ or ‘Yoga means connecting your body, mind and spirit’. The latter two answers are substantially closer to the true meaning of yoga.
Mindful Eating III: Eating with Awareness makes it a meditation that energizes and emotionally satisfies
Read Mindful Eating I: What you eat will determine how you move and how you get up the next day and Mindful Eating II: How cooking food sattvically and how your mood affects the quality of your food
The other aspect is ‘eating with awareness.’ Just this can so profoundly change not just your food intake but how you digest and assimilate life itself.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda beautifully talks about awareness as the key to many of life’s problems. So the first question is how to define awareness. It is simply bringing our complete attention to whatever is at hand. It is like shining a flashlight on an object so just that object is illuminated. Or if a butterfly were to land on your arm, your awareness would be brought to that area of the arm. Like this, the first thing we can do to transform our eating, whether or not we are eating wholesome food or fast food, is to bring our complete awareness and attention to the food that we are taking into our bodies.
Meditation for beginners: How to get started meditating
Meditation for Beginners: WHAT IS THE RIGHT WAY TO GET STARTED WITH MEDITATION?
First of all, approach it with sincerity.
I am not asking you to believe or disbelieve in meditation. I don’t ask you to have faith. I ask you to have trust. Faith is a ready-made belief in something. Trust is simply the openness to experiment. So give meditation a chance. Keep an open mind. Be enthusiastic; be prepared for something mind-blowing to happen!

Secondly, approach with optimism.
The state of bliss is not something reserved for yogis and sannyasis. Bliss is a perfectly realizable goal for you - even if you are completely unfamiliar with meditation. I tell you, there is no such thing as being qualified for meditation.
The state of bliss is not something reserved for yogis and sannyasis. Bliss is a perfectly realizable goal for you - even if you are completely unfamiliar with meditation.
A small story:
Once a man approached the great spiritual master Ramana Maharishi and asked him, "Bhagavan, am I qualified for the spiritual life?" Ramana answered him with a question, "Are you alive?" The man was startled. He said, "Yes, of course!" "That is enough," Ramana replied. "You already have the necessary qualification for spirituality."
Mindful Eating II - How cooking food sattvically and how your mood affects the quality of your food
Ayurveda can provide the answer to eating that will cover all aspects of eating: weight maintenance, nutrition, food preparation and presentation, proper digestion, elimination and emotional connection to the food.
How does Ayurveda address this?
An important aspect of this is cooking the sattvic way.
The qualities of rajas, tamas and sattva is not only in the very nature of the food, but the way you cook your food also will decide whether the food will be transformed into sattva, rajas or tamas. (check Part I for further information: Mindful Eating - What you eat will determine how you move and how you get up the next day)
Mindful Eating - What you eat will determine how you move and how you get up the next day

The kind of food you eat will decide how your body will move.
Ayurveda - the science of life, Part I of III
That is why in yoga, we have a sister science of yoga which is called Ayurveda. Ayurveda comes from Ayus Vedaha the science of life. Ayurveda and yoga always go together. Ayurveda is a huge science. Ayurveda talks about living - how to live with this body beautifully. Yoga comes in and says, ‘With this body I will take you deeper and make you experience enlightened consciousness, make you find out who you truly are.’ They are always called sister sciences. In Ayurveda, a lot of weightage is given to the kind of food you eat and the kind of person you are.

I expected the food to be dull and I expected that we would be fasting often and eating simple food, but to the contrary, the food being completely sattvic, was incredible. We had a few great trips outside of the ashram to magnificent temples. The opportunity to see these temples, which I would not have otherwise seen was very valuable. —Sonal, Clinical Researcher, USA
