What is stress? Techniques to deal with stress
"I’m late for work… The project deadline is looming…. There is too much on my plate…Dinner hasn’t been started, I am stuck in traffic and I am late picking up Jonathon…Why won’t this red light change…Oh no, a cop car is behind me…"
Just reading these incidents makes one start to feel agitated or stressed. Stress is such a normal part of our lives and yet we pay a heavy toll from the effects of stress on our body, mind and spirit.
If we look at each one of these situations there is something going on in our mind that is reacting to the situation at hand. “I am late for work…Deadline…Dinner…Red light…OH No! A cop car!” In each scenario the mind is not where the body is. The mind has jumped into the future to come up with a conclusion about what could happen. That conclusion is causing the mind and therefore the body to experience the symptoms of stress.
Wealth that no one enjoys and wealth that everyone enjoys
Paramahamsa Nithyananda talks about different types of wealth
In Vedic tradition there are two types of wealth: Kubera wealth and Lakshmi wealth. Kubera, Yaksha, is a demigod, he goes on accumulating wealth which neither he enjoys, nor does he let others enjoy. Nobody can enjoy, nobody can live, nobody knows what is going to be done with it. It is there for future, but when is the future going to come? Nobody knows. Kubera wealth is wealth accumulated out of insecurity. Please understand that wealth will never be useful when you are really in need, because when need comes you think "no no no, maybe some worse need will come let it be there."
Achieving the state of a leader, not status!
A small story: There was once a great war between two countries. The war had been going on for some time and the soldiers were starting to feel tired of the long battle.
On a hot afternoon, a man in civilian clothes was riding past a small group of tired soldiers digging a huge pit. The group leader was shouting orders andthreatening punishment if the work was not completed within the hour.
The man riding the horse stopped and asked, ‘Sir, why are you only shouting orders? Why can’t you help them yourself?’ asked the stranger on horseback.
The group leader looked at him and replied, ‘What do you mean? I am the leader. The men do as I tell them.’ He then added, ‘If you feel so strongly about helping them, you are welcome to
Laughter is Bliss: True natural laughter relieves stress and anger

Being honest is an issue for many of us. Many of us cannot express our feelings without an internal censor. We dare not be spontaneous. Instead we mentally rehearse before speaking to our spouses, parents, friends, children and colleagues. What we speak is not the same as what we think.
If we review our day, we will find that from the time we get out of bed, to the end of the day, we fill our time with avoidance lies and untruths. We are afraid to
Stressless Leadership
If you are taking decisions with stress, without clarity, all your decisions will make you and others suffer. Once you learn to drop your judgements about yourself and about others you will be free from stress - your decisions will become clear and sharp.
If you take decisions consciously, you will never have any stress! Stress is realized only when you take decisions unconsciously; engrams interfere with your decision making capacity. Engrams are ‘engraved’ or ‘past memories’ that can distort or disturb your decision making capacity.
If things are straightforward, you can take thousands of decisions, and yet be completely relaxed. Your life will fow like a river! But if you are filled with engrams, after taking just two or three decisions, you will be completely tired.
Techniques to deal with worrying: Worrying is a conscious decision
To worry or not worry is your conscious decision
Before understanding why we worry, let us study a very simple and common case study. While at work, we sometimes take a coffee or a tea break. We go to office canteen, order a cup of tea or coffee, sit on a coffee table and then do what? Start thinking about work? What will happen if I do not get this work done by the end of the day? What are the repurcurssions? What happened before that made it so bad?
But wait. Was it not supposed to be a tea break so that I could get myself out of my regular thinking pattern and enjoy a cup of coffee and think afresh?
This simple cup of coffee explains a number of questions related to worry.
Worries are nothing but familiar dwelling patterns of our mind. The familiar patterns are called samskaras or engraved memories that are deeply embedded in our bio-memory and associate our past experiences with the different emotions that we went through during that experience. These samskaras form the basis for all our present and future actions.

Every single aspect of this program was great - the way the curriculum was designed, the incredible loving and caring ashramites and volunteers who took care of us, the great accommodation and amazing food. Also, the uniqueness of this program is that it gives you the experience of meditation and yoga and the great opportunity to take a step further to get trained to become a meditation and yoga teacher. —Oormi, Geologist, Mexico
